We started the day with a walk around the many different geysers around Old Faithful. Our favourite was 'morning glory' and we saw Old Faithful erupt a couple more times before checking out.

We headed northwards through the park stopping off for another 'paint pot' trail and then at Mammoth Springs. We continued out of the north entrance, so we could put our feet down in Montana.

Then back to the grand loop road - a part of which (Dunraven Pass) had only opened that day. The scenery from there was breath-taking and once we came down from the mountain pass we were delighted to see a black bear in a pasture, not far from the road, near Tower Falls. It was so special and we stayed to watch for a while.

Our last of many stops was at Artists Point, which moved me to tears - it was so beautiful and we had fulfilled a long-held dream. This place was more than we had imagined and the photos posted are only a small part of the memories we will hold close.
