This is what our trip was based on - and it has taken us two weeks to get here! For the record we visited West Thumb Geyser Basin, Prismatic Spring and the Paint pots before checking into our cabin at Old Faithful Lodge. We were overwhelmed by the colours and extraordinary heat and power coming from the geysers; this is just so different from what we had every seen before. Also it was clear that spring is only just beginning in Yellowstone and there is still so much snow and ice on lakes everywhere. As well as Elks and Bison, we were very fortunate to see a wolf crossing the road directly in front of us..

We had a small cabin (or shed as Bob described it) at Old Faithful - very basic for £300 for the night! But is was fantastic to be overnighting in this special place.

In the evening, we took a tour on one of the heritage Yellowstone buses which was fun and informative.
