A change of pace today with only a short drive to Cody. This part of Wyoming has an obsession with Buffalo Bill Cody (re the Wild West touring shows) with dams, lakes, street and a whole town named after him. We spent an enjoyable hour or so strolling around the Old Town Trail in Cody where various log buildings had been moved to preserve them in this outside museum. It was really fascinating to learn about the life of the early settlers in the west.

Rather nervously (me) we went on to our next experience, which was white water rafting (for beginners). Being so early in the season we were the only customers on this trip, so it was a good opportunity for the newer guides to get some experience on the water. We rafted down the Shoshone River (previously called the Stinking Waters due to a nearby sulphur spring) for about an hour. It was fantastic fun with all of us getting a thorough soaking and lots of laughs and shrieks along the way. I don't know but I felt the guide was deliberately navigating the route through the worst of the rapids! Photos will follow...

Having checked in to our accommodation and dried off, we headed out to the Cody Cattle Show - a 'chuckwagon' style dinner and music from a very talented band. Right up our street as you can imagine! Bob obviously got talking to the musicians and was given cds to promote on his radio shows.

We also enjoyed chatting with our table mates - and actually a nice part of this trip is the random people we are meeting along the way. First guess is always that we are Australian! Americans are very interested in the monarchy and you can imagine Bob's response to that! We have to be careful about the whole Trump thing as clearly lots of supporters around here...
