The forecast was for unsettled weather so we were not optimistic about seeing much in in the Teton National Park today. Sure enough it was very cloudy so we decide the best bet would be to start low and spend some time around Jenny Lake. We caught a shuttle boat across the lake and hiked up to Hidden Falls, keeping an eye out for wildlife. We were told that bears were coming down from the mountain-top snow fields to lower levels so to be aware. All we saw was a chipmunk and a gopher, but fun nonetheless. Hidden falls was in full flow and dramatic, we had to trudge through snow to see it - but it was certainly worthwhile.

Back on the route through the park, the sky started to clear here and there and we did manage to get some great views of the range. In the early afternoon we witnessed prhe most impressive lightening strike we have ever seen; several forks over 180 degrees. and so bright!

We completed our time in the national park by visiting Mormon Row; a small village of early settlers in the region, now abandoned. We had heard of the T A Moulton Barn standing lonely in a field, but couldn't remember why it was famous. When we got back and looked it up, it transpired it is famous for being picturesque and a popular photographic subject.

This evening we had a browse road the shops (all very expensive) and a great steak dinner and a few drinks at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar - another ambition fulfilled!!
